HELP – Nose picker at the workplace – I need advice!

Ok, here it is…..I work with a nose picker. This person sits right next to me and on a daily basis, several times a day, picks his nose. There are not enough words or exclamation points on the planet to describe how awful each and every moment is.First, it is not just a subtle scratch/pick which someone might do once a year. This kid goes for it. He actually sticks his finger in his nose and digs. DIGS!!!! Its so obvious because he scrunches his face up whilst digging. I mean the kind of digging you would see of a kindergartener. Then, my favorite part, he rolls up whatever he just got…..and flicks on the floor. ON THE FLOOR!!!!! Next to me or the other sucker that sits on the other side of this person. Sometimes, he picks his nose, grabs a napkin and just sticks them right on the napkin. The way it happens is obvious and vulgar and not normal for anyone on the planet to do, even on a subway car in front of strangers, let alone in front of a room full of 500 coworkers.

Every time he walks by, my heart starts to race because I worry that he’ll touch me somewhere, or touch something on my desk. Its maddening. This person sits right next to me, if I stretch my arm out, I can touch him.

The thing is, how do you handle something like this? He is very immature, so if I ask him to stop, I fear that it will embarrass him and he’ll somehow look for payback. Boogers on my desk!?Please, bring on the advice!
